Why It Is Important to Unite: The Mission of the Union of Amshan Armenians of Armenia

Every nation draws its strength from its unity. The history of the Amshen Armenians is the story of a people who, over the centuries, have managed to preserve their identity, culture, traditions, and memory of their ancestors, despite wars, resettlements, and hardships. But today we face an equally important task: not only to preserve our heritage, but also to ensure its development for future generations.
That is precisely why the Union of Amshen Armenians was established in the historical homeland of the Armenians—in Armenia. This is neither a coincidence nor a mere formality. Armenia is the heart of the Armenian world, a place where every Armenian, regardless of the country where they were born or live, feels a connection to their roots. Here, we can join forces for the sake of our people’s shared future.
Our association was established to help Amshens get to know one another better, support one another, and build a strong community together. Today, Amshens live in various countries around the world—in Armenia, Russia, Abkhazia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Europe, the Americas, and other parts of the globe. Thousands of kilometers separate us, but we are united by common roots, a shared history, and a shared responsibility to future generations.
Coming together is not just about preserving traditions. It is essential for our development. It ensures that our children know their history, take pride in their heritage, and feel part of a large and close-knit community. It allows young people to get to know one another, build strong families, and raise a new generation of Amshen Armenians.
